Mitch--you made me laugh--thanks. Now, I too am thinking about what I can grow! Something that only needs about 30 minutes a day of the bright light (don't want to over use the expensive light bulbs).

BTW--One of the advantages of an "official" light box for light therapy is that it filters out UV rays and has a diffuser screen.

Sar--thanks. My mood hasn't been that bad, really. Actually, it's been pretty ok over the past few months. But in recent weeks I do feel pretty stressed. Work has been very challenging and hard to keep up with (others here are complaining about it too) and with all the scary crap going on out there, I've been "taxed" in coping with the anger, fear, sadness etc. I guess I feel more "reactive" in the past few weeks, and anxious, and a little depressed but the depression is very transient. But the light definitely helps with the winter sluggishness part. Now, I need to get myself back into the gym on a more frequent basis. I've only been averaging about once every two weeks--definitely not enough to see mood benefits.

Phil--the good thing about the light box manufacturers/distributers is that many of them have trial periods/liberal return policies/guarantees, so you can see if it makes a difference. I guess you can contact them and ask if you can try it out to see if it would help you.
