a pdoc will often give a patient a trial of a med based on their observations. I don't think this sounds so strange.

sometimes one has tried everything, and reads about a different med and really does need to try it, if only to get that idea out of their system.

Can't a pdoc prescribe a very small amount of a stim, since one knows whether it works quickly?

I'm honestly asking -- I certainly would not want to encourage misuse of them. Of course, I can't understand how one misuses prescribed stims... I'd love an explanation just out of curiosity (or is that inappropriate here?). Not sure.

Stims have definitely helped me...
