You didn't become depressed overnight, I bet & it'll take a while for any AD to work. Even if the dose is intially the right amount, it still takes about three weeks **at least** for the needed changes in the brain to occur. AND that's saying the doctor's hit on the right level of dosing first time. It's like someone taking an antibiotic for an illness for a few days & saying they still feel sick. It needs time to work.
One psychiatrist conjectured that many people don't try a medication long enough at the correct dosage for them to find out if it would really work or not. More time & money is wasted by jumping around from one med to another without giving it a fair trial.
It's thought that perhaps the brain's neurons need a few weeks to make new connections between cells or to change the cellular structure to benefit from the drugs's action. 10 days is hardly a fair time to expect much from it. You should be patient for at least three weeks, then if necessary, your doctor can adjust the dosage upwards.
