I agree with Jon. I stayed on Effexor for over two weeks on the advice of my pdoc (and on his advice also upped my Klonopin), but it just kept getting worse and worse. It was clearly pushing me into an agitated hypomania and was not at all good for me.
Sometimes the start up symptoms are just start up symptoms and sometimes they are signs of a hypomanic episode. A pdoc really needs to be involved (although in my experience, it would be tough to find on that quickly).
