Didn't know elavil came in 12.5mg dose. Sounds strange to me unless your splitting a 25mg tab. Elavil comes in 10mg followed by 25mg strength. I started on Elavil 25mg 3x during the day plus 100mg at bedtime. It took 50mg to have a sedative effect. I can't see how 12.5mg can knock you out for a day. And that 12.5mg strength sounds very fishy to me. I would check with pharmacist and doc.
