Hey Ron,
How are you doing?Well, with my tail between my legs, I decided to crawl back to the little white tabs and graciously accept that Lithium does work for me!
I have tried to avoid the inevitable, but haven't yet started the Trileptal and want to get off this god-damn awful Zyprexa stuff. So, with a sardonic grin from my p.doc, I am back on 1000mg of Priadel (ext.-release Li+)
But Alas, when I thought I was destined for a future on one horribly uneventfull level mood plain, you have come up with the goods!
I was reading about using the two drugs in combination, allowing for a low dose of each, but read that there is an increased risk of neurotoxicity when combining Lithium with ox/carbamazapine.
Do you know if they are used together in practice commonly?
I sure would love to try that combo once I am off the Zyprexa (should give the Lithium 2-3weeks).
I shall read more. (Do my homework as I'm told...yes Ron!)
In response to your query of type of Li+ etc, as above, and my blood level is usually 1.2-1.3mmol/LOH- and thanx for pointing out to our dear ACE, that I am actually of the female variety!
(Maybe it was something about mowing the lawn... better get the equal rights bureau onto ACE!!!)
