i have not tried Anafranil. i have thought about it, but i hate and am quite sensitive to antihistaminic and anticholinergic side effects. Plus i just figured that an SSRI or Effexor (maybe at a higher dose) would be roughly just as effective, but without those crappy side effects.
Neurontin, huh? i never thought about that. That might be actually be a good idea, although i hear it wears off fairly easily, has a bad withdrawal syndrome, and can make one feel slow and stupid.
Yeah, i guess antipsychotics could be quite helpful. But i don't want to be a slow, lethargic, amotivated idiot either (which Risperdal at a very low dose-- 0.25mg-- made me; have not tried any others though). That's what i hate, i'm more or less convinced that i have to decide between either extreme obsessive-compulsive stressful perfectionism and unmotivated lethargic stupidity. And i already have such a problem with motivation and concentration (on things i'm not interested in).
i guess i'll just have to keep working on the cognitive behavioral therapy without significant pharmacological help (though Nardil has helped some). If you think of any other suggestions, i'd be glad to hear them though. Thanks again.
