**I don't think mixed states are an easy marker for a dx of bipolar, but certainly, something else was obviously going on with me than just depression. My mixed states depressions were so severe and psychotic I don't think my docs knew what to do with me. Antipsychotics were tried but didn't help. I strongly resisted the label 'bipolar' and bipolars can be pretty persuasive, don't keep appointments when they're flying high. But to be honest, I think pdocs miss the obvious far too often and a really good one is a rare thing.**BTW, what kinds of MAOIs are you considering, Ed? I hear good things about Nardil.
