Hi:
Sounds like you've been experiencing 'dysphoria'/intense anger. However, I have no clue why this started after having on a mood-stabilizer. Normally, ... any of mood-stabilizer, Depakote, Trileptal, Lamical and lithium makes you to NOT get angry, because dysphoria is a part of 'hypomanic' symptoms.I can not recall what other meds. you're on, ... however one of meds., Lamictal that might have some 'interaction' due to 'anti-depressant' efficacy. In the beginning of Bp med. therapy, just one M.S. seems 'enough,' because you never know what adverse effects you can get.
In the past when I was in unstable state, I had a problem similar to yours. However, it went away with time, after med. combo. started to kick-in more and more. For me, a mood-stabilizer(Lithium 900 mg.) is NOT able to 'subdue' dysphoric urge. One of 'best' A.P.s, Zyprexa 5 mg. puts a good 'lid' on the dysphoric. In my knowledge, some of Bpers actually carrying around one of A.P.s, either Risperdal or Zyprexa for emergency situation/precautiousness whenever going to 'social' and work places.
If you have Dysphoric episode that is one of 'nasty'/worse form of hypomania, then probably you may need to call your pdoc. soon. Because, a mood-stabilizer alone won't alleviate this problem.
