Hi:
I agree with you, ... you've been 'cycling' quite often. I had similar 'experience' due to my dx with 'ultra' rapid cycler that means hypomania and depression cycles back and forth several times within one/singe day. It was a VERY annyoing to go through this.I, too feel that the reason why your pdoc. put Trileptal is because of your negative experience on the Depakote. In my case, ... I've been on the Lithium, 900 mg. along with other meds. and works VERY well. However, Lithium alone does NOT alleviate all of Bp symptoms I have. Thus, my pdoc. added the Zyprexa, starting out on 2.5 mg./miniscule and moved up to the 5 mg. I gained about 10-15 lbs. during the past five years after the Zyprexa about which I have NO 'good reason'to complain, as seeing the same on SSRIs.
In my knowledge from my 'own' personal experience along with reading others,. ... if you were dx'ed with moderate to severe form of Bp, there needs one or two A.P.s, ... one for 'booster' and other for nasty side of hypomania. Then, I just wonder why your pdoc. did NOT prescribe one of A.P.s, ... not the Zyprexa, but weight-neutral A.P.s, like Abilify or Geodon.
It's good to know that you're feeling 'good' today. Without worrying about other issues, try to 'cherish'/enjoy as much as you can when you're in positive state.
Try to keep us posted your progress.
H.G.
