Trileptal might also be helpful, it generally seems to have less side effects than Tegretol. Nortriptyline or desipramine can be effective for neuropathic pain, they seem to be better tolerated than amitriptyline. The neurologist mentioned nortriptyline, but I was kind of put off by the potential anticholinergic effects. Does it have many? Or was my reaction out of line?
