I am now just taking myself off buspar. Initially I noticed a really great response to buspar(only 5 mg). I know it's not the norm but within 2 days I was feeling great. I was so happy! But within 2 weeks I noticed it wasn't working so great. I upped the dose, and got to 20 mg, but still nothing, except a mixture of depression, anxiety, and aggitation.
I am very sensitive meds and although the buspar was fine at 10 mg, as I climbed in the dose I started to have side effects. I would get bad headaches, dizziness, And a weird feeling like my brain and heart were thumping at the same time. It freaked me out.
I've had to take 4 5g doses a day and I can't go higher because I can't take more than 5 mg at a time. Also it's very expensive and not covered under our provincial plan.
I really others find help in this med. If only I could have stayed feeling like I did the first 2 weeks I would have stuck with it forever regardless of the expense.Crissi
