> Why do most sources state that MAOI's cause weight gain? Is this because most of the MAOI's, until now, prescribed in the US were MAOI-A's? Those are more likely to cause weight gain than MAOI-B's, right?

> Seriously, there is wayyy too much conflicting, hidden, and misinformation. Oh yeah, by the way, every (even copywrite 2006) text you'll ever see mentioning an SSRI says no weight gain, I've got about 5 right here that claim this to be true. I could understand reporting that in 1990, but come on, in 2006, we all know better.

> Well, anyway, my real question is, do MAOI-A's cause weight gain, while MAOI-B's do not? Are there any MAOI-B's available in the US, beside EMSAM at a lose dose?Well obviously im on parnate, and while i absolutly notice a DECREASE in actual appetite,my overall body mass has increased so much i literaly grew out of my sneakers,my parents think seriously im on some form of steroids,i lift weights so although the mass seems to be neither fat,nor pure ripped muslce,it is a general mass,i went from 180 to 25,my entire body widened,in all honesty im glad i do lift im also glad i have a lil hieght on me,i can imagine the struggle of someone who simply doesent live that lifstyle,it must be totaly confusing to see ur appetite drop yet see this mass appear that doesent seem to respond to tradional weight loss methods.
