Hi Brian,
Both my pdoc and my neurologist are constantly making adjustments to the way I take Neurontin every day. The latest regiment was implemented to deal with the kinds of experiences you're having.I take 2400mg/day as follows:
300mg AM
600mg Noon
1500mg PMAs you can see the nighttime does has been heavily loaded whereas the morning and noon doses are much lighter. Also the noon does is slightly higher than the morning dose.
However this is not a recommendation; it is only how I take it and is just one example of how the doses can be adjusted.
I take it for a combination of Migraine prevention and mood stabilization so I don't use it for exactly the same reasons you do. The onset of Migraines are the principal determinant of how I take the med.
As always you should discuss any changes with your pdoc. Don't change the amount of the med or the way you take it on your own unless you have the pdoc's explicit permission to do so.
