Suprisingly, Straterra worked for my depression too.
It has demonstrated antidepressant effects in previous animal/human trials.
It can be difficult sometimes to demonstrate the antidepressant of drugs sometimes as the placebo effect is often so marked.
I think if other drugs like fluoxetine had attempted approval with today's standards there would be more problems. Apparently there were tons of failed clinical trials with it.
