epinephrine and parnate

Posted by emmanuel98 on July 16, 2012, at 23:27:41

Hope someone can help me. I take 40mg parnate/day and it's working very well. I was told that I should not mix with epinephrine and should not, therefore, take novocaine at the dentists. The problem is that epinephrine is a vaso-constrictor (constricts the small veins to prevent bleeding). I am now trying to get a crown for a tooth and the process causes bleeding, too much to get an impression for the crown. My dentist said that epinephrine would prevent this. So my question is -- how much of a problem is mixing epinephrine and parnate? Is it really a bad combination or not? I am seeing my p-doc before the dentist on Thursday, but frankly I don't think my p-doc knows a lot about this.

Any advice is welcome.
