Hi Jost,
> But I absolutely refuse to contemplate the idea that you weren't/wouldn't have been a great hire for that job.
Period. (And I know this is easy to say, not live through- but this is still so true.)
It is hard to live through. I can't take much more rejection. My T says I personalize it, which I agree with, but I don't see how I can't personalize it. I've been rejected so many times for jobs that I am qualified for. I've been told I'm the number one candidate and I never hear back from them. My calls and emails don't get returned. The usual ignore her and she'll go away treatment.
You are absolutely right that they did make a mistake. Because I would have been good at that job and assuming I finish my classes they could have kept me on to be great at a better job. Yes, it's their loss, but this has happened to me so many times before. Not getting called and told not to come in for a second interview, but interviewing and being told I'm a strong candidate or even the number one candidate and never hearing back.
Thank you for your words of encouragement and understanding of the pain of this whole ordeal.
