I was wondering who finds this to have a reliable antidepressants effect for them. Does anyone use this method (with or without meds)regularly?
If it works for you how do you believe it works and how long does it last?
It definately helps for me. The effects linger for a few days for me. I have done it purposely when my PMS has become unbearable in the past and it helps a lot.
I read a study that used 1 night of total sleep deprivation in conjunction with bright light therapy for half an hour around 8-9am.
I also respond to light therapy in the winter. I have not tried it in spring or summer before.
Also, a study showing that some responders to sleep deprivation were able to sustain their response for months by skipping sleep twice a week.
I have recently quit smoking and am finding myself in a anhedonic funk for about the last week. I need a boost fast and I am considering trying this.
Any thoughts or comments?
