yeah my experience with Mg -
I think overall it is positive but no way have a I had the kind of results all those people have. For one thing I am still addicted to nicotine and alcohol despite going on 2 years taking magnesium. I wouldn't say the Mg has helped in any way with my cravings. Secondly the author goes on about not taking calcium and when I only took magnesium I started to get the most scary heart arrhythmias ever. I also developed tremors in my hands and was really anxious. This subsided a little when I added back in calcium supplements so what's the deal there???
I take all kinds of magnesium - orotate, glycinate, malate, chloride - all the good ones basically. I can't take that much or I get diarrhea and then that makes me feel worse than without the Mg.
It is misleading to say everybody with depression/mood disorders is going to get better taking magnesium and avoiding calcium.
I have had a cartilage injury in my leg from sports and this has in no way improved from Mg. I am wondering if I got really calcium depleted and this just makes it worse.
Also be aware - that, unless this other site is wrong (acu-cell.com) which is possible, that magnesium antagonizes various things which would be conducive to stable mental health - like lithium for example.
It would be so wonderful if magnesium was the answer to my various addictions but nope - didn't work. I'm still taking Mg in the hope that one day it will work but so far no luck. However, it does help me with sleep (taken with calcium).
Sorry to sound so negative - maybe it is the magic mineral for many people.
