First of all, I'm glad our posts have helped you. I too lurked around awhile and felt supported even before I ever posted.
As to your question, I have a lot of bodily sensations and feelings when triggered by things like certain smells and sounds. I don't usually have the memory to go along with it. I know it's there, but I don't allow myself to try to conjure it up. Instead I fill my life with distraction and my head with noise to drown out the memories.
But therapy certainly has brought those demons to the surface. I often try to rationalize and explain away hard memories. I even try to get a third party to verify them. I'm learning to trust my memory more and more. It's a very hard road.
