Actually out of all the classes of anti-depressants, MAOIs are the least likely to cause mania.

Generally Nardil is prescribed if a person has a problem with social anxiety and depression. One side effect is weight gain.

Parnate is the more stimulating of the two and usually there is no weight gain.

Good luck getting a pdoc to prescribe one them to you!
