In reply to exercise is suppose to improve mood right????!!!, posted by mike lynch on September 18, 2004, at 16:33:34
Are you off all drugs? If so, I have read somewhere that coming off antidepressants requires you to calm your central nervous system. Brisk exercise actually ramps it up. I have no idea if this is true, but it is something I read. Personally, now 2 months into coming off Lexapro and Zyprexa I find that exercise is the only thing that keeps me from actually feeling phsically sick. These drugs really screw up the central nervous system and maybe really having a tough workout is a little too much for you right now. Maybe slowing it down and taking some walks or softer exercise might help. All the best

> The thing is...I was never depressed per se before starting working out...i felt more along the lines of apathetic...unmotivated...emotionless....now exercise is seemingly triggered a spout of actual depressing feelings..This is one of the few things that was suppose to give me relief..I hate drugs and it is the primary reason I turned to natural means and now apparently the most reccomended forum of an anti-depressant is making me depressed!! This is really strange..I can't find any answers to this researching and I don't think I will here either...unless someone has gone threw it..well that's all
