That was an interesting thread. I too used to get antidepressant benefit from exercise but no longer do. I don't feel irritable afterwards, but I do crash and feel more depressed, exhuasted and even less motivated than usual. I had been attributing it to adrenal fatigue (as another poster mentioned, cortisol may be involved here). Hypoglycemia may also be a factor since I have that issue. I have only been taking about 19 mg. of Effexor so I doubt it's A/D medication related. Who knows? I also wish that the medical community knew more about this problem - at this point I'd settle for them just taking the issue seriously. Terribly frustrating though. You feel like you can't count on anything anymore to restore health if you can't count on exercise. It feels like such a huge loss.
